Coming Along....

Slow but steady our house is building up. Today we discussed the windows we need to order and at what height we want them now that some of the framing is done and we can visualize them more. It is still a scary process, not knowing for sure what the outcome will look like, but we do know we have a large, shaded lanai! The rest of the framing lumber and roofing material will be delivered this Thursday, and our house should be completely framed within the next few weeks!!

In other news, Happy Birthday to Shannon, we will have a dinner over at Bill and Casey's house. She just returned from 2 weeks camping on the Kona coast participating in Quest, a scientific diving course. She completed 13 dives in two weeks! She has great pictures to share.

I am busy working with the Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the Volcano rainforest Retreat and demolding the house we are sitting. Recently I visted the school I will be interning with this fall to get an idea of the role I will play there, I have lots of studying to do this summer!

Shannon leaves again on Monday to visit family and attend a stable isotope course in Utah for a few weeks, when she returns I get to visit my family in Georgia and participate in a week long ASL immersion program at the school Shannon taught at before, the Washington School for the Deaf...it is a busy summer along with putting in some time on our land and house.

Enjoy the Pictures, more will come soon!! Rowan

Finals week

We're now in the finals stage of the semester. Both of us feel pretty good with what we've learned this term AND look forward to a break! Concrete has been poured as of yesterday and we get our wood on Monday. Finally things are progressing. More photos soon - after finals!
